Public School - with Support Class
2015 As the classroom becomes more study focused we all agreed that we should seek out other options so we were lucky enough to get accepted into a support class in a school close by. So the 2 year program consists of 4 days in the support class and 1 day at out local school so that when the time comes, we can transition back with little disruption.
Local Public School
2013 brought us to our transition year from a special school with oodles of support to mainstream with a class 3 times the size. So far we're getting used to the routine and dynamics of the 'real world'. The kids in the class are very supportive and we communicate with the parents regarding Flynn's quirks and regularly with his teacher.
St. Lucy's School
2012 was our first year at school and we have chose St. Lucy's School which is close to where we live.
"The child has a hundred languages, environment is the third teacher, all learning is based upon relationships, to create is to be, the learning you make for yourself goes with you." Reggio Emilia teaching tradition
We loved the fact that the outside play area is accommodating for the Sensory Child, with a flying fox, bike track, climbing spider frame, running water and the list goes on. With small classes and caring teachers and support staff, this was the place for us at this point in our lives. Flynn attended for 2012 and most of 2013.

Early Intervention Service
We attended Lifestart at Pennant Hills for two years in 2010 and 2011 finishing with the Prep for School program. It was an integral part of our learning journey and equipped all of us with many skills and great friends along the way. Lifestart has an extensive list of resources on their site.
"Lifestart Co-operative Ltd is a parent co-operative providing a family-centred approach to the needs of children with disabilities and their families. It is based on the concept of partnerships between parents and professionals."
